Photo Shoot Day

So back in mid-April I had photo shoot. It was for a new job that I applied to as a promo girl for various ventures. I had gotten the job but they recommended that I send more picture along with my measurement. A friend of mine is an up and coming photographer so I asked him to take photos. He was looking to add to his portfolio and I was looking to add to mine.

We decided to do it on April 19th since he’s usually really busy. It was also the perfect time for me because all my classes had ended but my exams did not not start yet. I asked my friend Alex to help me out, unfortunately she couldn’t stay throughout the photo shoot. It went on during the evening and we were done by sunset.

Jumping into a New Year

It’s the year of the horse

Hi everyone, it has been nearly two months since my last blog post. I am so, so sorry about that. Between finals and the holidays, I have been swamped. I’m surprised and happy that I’ve crossed into 10,000+ page views. Thank you. It’s a New Year, and I’d like to wish all my readers a happy New Year.

Looking back on 2013, I can say that I’m quite satisfied with it. I feel like I have grown as a person. I gained so much confidence in myself, much of what I was missing the past 7 years of my life, haha.

Cosplaying and Convention Culture in the Caribbean

Hello everyone. I’m here once again to talk to you about something that relates to Japanese culture, cosplay. In recent times, elements of cosplay has been integrated into everyday dress. With anime-inspired nail art, Sailor Moon tattoos, pastel wigs and more.

Likewise, Japanese pop culture has been steadily growing in the Caribbean. The region itself has three conventions, while not as big as France’s Japan Expo, USA’s Anime Expo and Japan’s Comiket, they are notable in their own right. These conventions include Barbados’ AnimeKon, Puerto Rico’s PR Comic Con and Jamaica’s Anime Nation. Each convention puts an emphasis on mixing Japanese pop culture with local talent and each heavily features the work of local artists.

Graduation Life

Hi everyone. I’m so, so sorry that I didn’t update recently. I just wanted to give everyone an update on how I’ve been doing. As some of you may know, I had graduation on Saturday, yay me. I took so many pictures, I thought it would be wrong to not share it with you guys.

A month before, my mom ordered my dress from ifitdress.com. Which is a Chinese dress-site? Though the dress arrived past the confirmed due date, it was in great quality and matched the picture. Though I’m sure my mom is weary now of buying clothes from unfamiliar sites. I bought my jewelry from Cave Shepherd’s Columbian Emeralds, and I was not disappointed. While the shoes, which were very comfortable, are Liliana.
