2015: Chloe’s Year in Review

Hey guys, I thought it was only right that I make a post to wrap up the year even though I have been MIA since August. This year has been hectic but also eye-opening for me. I really was able to grow as a person. Even though it wasn’t too eventful, I thought that it’d be nice to throw together some highlights or things that I did for the year.

Be One With The Forest: Mori Girl

The Mori Girl is a girl who looks like she lives in the forest. A very whimsical style. I was thinking, it was a while since I last wrote about a Japanese fashion subculture. As some of you know, the last post I made, was last year with B-girl. This time I wanted to go the opposite route to a more delicate style. And I’m not talking lolita, haha. I’m talking Mori Girl or forest girl.

Photo Shoot Day

So back in mid-April I had photo shoot. It was for a new job that I applied to as a promo girl for various ventures. I had gotten the job but they recommended that I send more picture along with my measurement. A friend of mine is an up and coming photographer so I asked him to take photos. He was looking to add to his portfolio and I was looking to add to mine.

We decided to do it on April 19th since he’s usually really busy. It was also the perfect time for me because all my classes had ended but my exams did not not start yet. I asked my friend Alex to help me out, unfortunately she couldn’t stay throughout the photo shoot. It went on during the evening and we were done by sunset.

Jumping into a New Year
It’s the year of the horse

Hi everyone, it has been nearly two months since my last blog post. I am so, so sorry about that. Between finals and the holidays, I have been swamped. I’m surprised and happy that I’ve crossed into 10,000+ page views. Thank you. It’s a New Year, and I’d like to wish all my readers a happy New Year.

Looking back on 2013, I can say that I’m quite satisfied with it. I feel like I have grown as a person. I gained so much confidence in myself, much of what I was missing the past 7 years of my life, haha.

Want to model in Japan? Check out the CanCam Contest
I’m late to the party but I wanted to talk about the CanCam Model Search. CanCam is a fashion magazine that I covered in my Akamoji-kei vs Aomoji-kei: It All Started with Red Letters post. It is an Akamoji-kei magazine. CanCam gets it’s name from ‘I Can Campus’, which indicates its strong college female following. However it is also known as the “Office Lady Bible”.

In an attempt to bring a larger following as well as notoriety to the magazine, the staff of CanCam has decided to do a model search. CanCam is trying to find a star that represents the new generation. It is not just an ordinary model search as it will make use of social networking site, Google+.
