Have you been naughty or nice this year with your skincare routine
My skincare has always been a roller coaster. This year I went the extra effort of taking care of it by buying African black soap, a face cleanser, witch hazel for toning, and a moisturizer. But I can’t say that stuck to my routine. My friends will tell you there’s been many a night where I went to bed with my makeup on. I think that alone earns me a spot on the naughty list for sure! But I promise I will be more nice to my skin. Especially since I’ve run out my Selsun shampoo which is the holy grail for my skin.
What’s the go-to beauty, makeup, or skincare product you would gift to your family and friends?
Definitely a lipstick or lip gloss. It’s so simple but a much-appreciated gift. Personally, I know so many girls who will choose to wear lipstick over putting on eyeshadow or eyeliner. And if you buy them a universal colour, it’s even better, because they can wear it with so many looks.
Do you mind gifting high-end products or rather gift drugstore products to others?
High-end products are an arm and a leg in my country, so it’s something that I reserve for my mom. However, if I’m buying drugstore products (usually I go mid-range), I’m not going to buy just one item. I want to give gifts that are worthwhile, therefore I’d make it like a gift basket containing a range of products.
What are the beauty products you’re hoping to get to see under your Christmas tree this year?
There’s so many that come to mind. But I would be happy with anything someone gives me because it’s the thought that counts to me.
What is the beauty product that you’re dreading to receive for Christmas this year?
I don’t ‘dread’ anything as such. I always seem to get a lot of bath and shower products which I love and always use up (eventually once I get to it!) but I dread finding storage for them as my cabinet is usually already full of products I still need to use up! But, I still love to receive new ones to try!
Are you participating in Blogmas this year? If so what is the post you’re most proud of so far?
Yes! I don’t have a particular post I’ve most proud of. I’m most proud of myself for sticking to it and not giving up!
Do you remember the first beauty product you received as a Christmas gift? What was it and did you enjoy it?
Probably one of those mini makeup box kit for kids. I’m sure you know what I’m talking about. It would come in a box and would have pink, blue and purple eyeshadow, there’d be blushes, the lipsticks/glosses and the small disposable applicator. Mine came with a mirror vanity and compartments. Let me tell you, I used that kit every day., I was in love. I swear I can remember the consistency of the shadows and the smell of the set.
What mini size product would you recommend as a great stocking stuffer?
I’m not sure if it’s considered mini, but nail polish. You can buy a range of colours for a great price depending on the brand.
Would you rather your friends and family ask you gifts you wanted to receive or have them surprise you?
I’m either way. Not many ask and most of the gifts given have always satisfied me and become a quick favourite of mine.
What is your favourite way to show Christmas spirit through your look or outfit?
Definitely the dress. I love to come burst out a glitter lid or a red lip. Outfit wise, I want to add some seasonal pieces to my wardrobe like satin and crushed velvet. I don’t know, there’s just something about those two that just screams the holidays to me.
