Hi everyone, it has been nearly two months since my last blog post. I am so, so sorry about that. Between finals and the holidays, I have been swamped. I’m surprised and happy that I’ve crossed into 10,000+ page views. Thank you. It’s a New Year, and I’d like to wish all my readers a happy New Year.
Looking back on 2013, I can say that I’m quite satisfied with it. I feel like I have grown as a person. I gained so much confidence in myself, much of what I was missing the past 7 years of my life, haha.
In 2013 I experienced many things. Last year, I meet Imoto Ayako who came with the ItteQ! filming crew to film a segment here in Barbados. I believe it was the first time a Japanese television such as that came to my country. I was so happy to be able to hold a conversation with her in Japanese. And according to my Japanese teacher, Ayako shows people the photo of us together. Maybe a celebrity I like knows that I exist lol.
I started putting work into this blog, which is very fulfilling for me as I love to talk about Asian fashion. I also went out more this year than ever before. I started doing online shopping and even got my first pair of circle lenses. I also graduated from secondary school and said goodbye to many individuals, as well as entered university. I also developed a new attitude while in university that I hope to carry into this year. It mostly focuses on self-confidence and not letting others tear you down or put up with their shit.
As some who follow me on twitter or tumblr know, I am a big fan of Japanese music. I found myself distancing myself from groups that I love, like AKB48. But I also got more into other groups like acts from LDH (EXILE, J Soul Brothers, etc). Though I promise myself to stay level-headed and not go into stan territory. Though I have to say, the artists I listen to have inspired me to take up dancing and serious exercise (which I’ll talk about on a later date). Speaking of fandoms/hobbies, I’ve been getting more into cosplaying and hope to make my first costume next year.

I’ve also re-realised my goal of going to Japan. Since I wasn’t able to study there for university, I’m going to work towards working there when I graduate. This break from university, I’ve been putting a lot more effort into studying the language. I’ve also been setting some goals for myself. I’ve shifted away from using Minna no Nihongo and settled on using Genki until I reach a comfortable level.
I’m really looking forward to 2014 and what it will have in store for me.
